Timothy, the second son of Cecil Hankey, was born in 1943 at Preston and was educated at Stowe.
He was awarded the MBE in 1989.
He was married on 1st June 1968 to Jennifer Ogilvie neé McQueen, by whom he had one son and one daughter.

After leaving Stowe, Tim took up a Commission in the Royal Air Force. He served as a Navigator from 1961-1973.
After leaving the RAF Tim trained as an Accountant and went on to spend many years as a 'trouble shooter' specialising in the emerging digital technology era.
Prior to retirement he spent 10 years in the NHS focussing on the improvement of the operational efficiency of that vast organisation.
He now lives in Norfolk with his wife Jennie allowing time for his paranoid interest in the Hankey family history.
